After pupils complete the Early Years Foundation Stage, they enter Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) and begin to follow the National Curriculum from England. The class teachers are highly qualified native Primary teachers who all have a passion for education.

Our priority with our younger children is to ensure that they feel happy, safe and secure, and then the teaching and learning can take place.

Year 1 classes each have a full time bilingual assistant working alongside the class teacher. There are two assistants in Year 2 who give children the support they need in their learning.  Our teaching team is also made up of specialist teachers for the Spanish subjects, Physical Education and Music.

Children are given the opportunity to learn in a range of situations inside and outside of the classroom. They are encouraged to become independent learners whilst also working in groups to develop their teamwork and collaboration skills.

Pupils eat lunch from 13.20 – 14.55 but are also offered the possibility of participating in a range of club activities from 13.20 – 14.10.  Children in Years 1 and 2 are offered an afternoon snack which is provided by school.

We believe school should be fun and happy, and the contented child will achieve more, both in and outside of the classroom.
